The Hive Hugger set includes two components:
The Crown - Top Panel: This high-tech panel is made of the most effective insulation material ever created, achieving an R-value of 32 in a 0.8” panel, equivalent to over 6” of foam board. Custom cut to sit on top of the wooden inner cover. This weatherproof, compact, lightweight panel is also eco-friendly.
The Wrap: This outer wrap is designed for tough, frigid weather. These 1½ inch custom cut, high-density foam boards are made to wrap securely around your hive to protect it from harsh winter weather. The foil faced insulation panels feature interlocking box cuts for ease of assembly and storage. At 25˚F it provides an R-value of 7.8 as well as increased resistance to both moisture and compression.
